Youth Participation
More opportunities for young people to participate actively in their communities.
Our impact begins when children and young people have opportunities to learn, play, connect and lead.
Children participated in the Play, Learn and Lead activity.
Activities bring children and young people from different nationalities and backgrounds together.
Educate, Play, Lead, Include and Empower guide our approach.
We work to create stronger connections across the Kakuma community.
Through Play, Learn and Lead, YRDP brought together more than 150 children from different nationalities living in Kakuma.
The activity created an opportunity for children to interact with people they may not normally meet, participate in games, learn together and develop new relationships.
For YRDP, these moments matter because community development is also about creating spaces where people can connect, participate and feel included.
More opportunities for young people to participate actively in their communities.
Greater participation of persons with disabilities and people from diverse backgrounds.
Stronger relationships among children, young people and community members.
Young people developing confidence, responsibility and leadership skills.
More opportunities for people from different backgrounds to interact positively.
Practical learning and experiences that help young people grow.
YRDP is planning a community football tournament designed to bring people from almost every background across Kakuma together.
Beyond competition, the tournament aims to create opportunities for teamwork, friendship, inclusion and positive interaction among community members.
